Sodas Crown to Crystal

Crown Bottling Co. (Pawtucket)-
The Crown Bottling Co. was located in Pawtucket. It was at 21 Hamilton St. in 1900. The state directory lists in in 1902 but not 1901. It is not listed in the Pawtucket directory either of these years. It was not listed for a number of years, but it was at rear 138 Main St. in 1917. It was at 336 Fountain St. in 1918-19. The Pawtucket directory does not list it in 1919.

Crown Bottling Co. (Central Falls)-
The Crown Bottling Co. was located in Central Falls. It was at 4 Jenks Ave. in 1901-02. Fred E. Dexter was the proprietor. He was previously listed as a milk dealer in 1900. In 1902 he was working for the Antlerine Co., handle manufacturers. It was at rear 63 Moore St. in 1909-1914. John T. Smith was the proprietor in 1909-1915.

(note:  I'm pretty sure the two Crown Bottling companies listed above were related in some strange way, but I have not yet been able to prove that)


Crown Bottling Co. (Woonsocket)-
The Crown Bottling Co. was located in Woonsocket, RI. It was first listed in 1899. Henry A. Whitney, a longtime Woonsocket pharmacist, was the proprietor. It was in the Unity Building in 1899-1905. J.F. Whitney was the proprietor in 1902-06. It was at rear 138 Main St. in 1910-14, and listed as a bottling works. Henry was still the manager in 1911. They were listed under soda fountain supplies dealers that year. It was at the same location in 1915-17, listed as Bottling Co. It was listed in 1918 at 138 Main St. It was at 80 River St. in 1925. It was run by William A. Batchelor at the time. The H.A. Whitney Co. was at rear 138 Main St. in 1918-1927. The UBB lists the Crown Bottling Co. in 1927. It was at rear 144 Main St. in 1928-1930.

Crown Spring Water Co.-
The Crown Spring Water Co. was located in Providence. The company was at 205 Dean St. It was in East Providence in 1901-04. It was at 179 Dean St. Providence in 1905-06. William S. Gould (1868-1944) was the manager (1901-07). The spring was located in East Providence. They were advertising 3 gallons of mineral water for 20 cents. It was at 205 Dean St. in 1907-08. It was at 420 Broadway in 1909-1912.

Crystal Beverage Co.-
The Crystal Beverage Co. was in Providence. It was at 69 Silver Lake Ave. from 1921-1932. Henry Nordolella was the owner in 1921-25. Anthony Nardolillo was the owner in 1927-1931. In 1926-1930 the company was partnered with the Turks Head Beverage Co. It was still partnered in 1936. It was incorporated in 1937. Thomas Testa was the president and Thomas J. Nardolillio was the secretary/ treasurer from 1938-1945. In 1938-1949 it was operating alone at the same address as the Crystal Beverage Co. Inc. In 1950 it became the Blue Ribbon Bottling Co.
