Sodas Krantz to LaSalle

Eugene S. Krantz & Co.-
Eugene S. Krantz was a liquor dealer in Providence. He was at 208 S. Main St. in 1907-08. In 1912 he was a founding member of D. Miller & Co., liquor dealers. He was listed as a salesman in 1913-15. He had moved to Buffalo, NY in 1916. He was back in RI at 1960 Westminster St. in 1920.
At one point he was at 208-212 No. Main St.

George Kulz-
Frederick Kulz was a grocer at 190 Pine St. from 1882-89. He died in 1891. George and Phillip Kulz were listed at 75 Dorrance St. in 1891. A John Kulz was listed as a clerk at 18 Snow St. in 1891. George was listed with no occupation at 75 Dorrance St. in 1892. In 1893 a Christian Kulz was working for Frederick Marx, a liquor dealer. The George Kulz Co. was listed in 1893. It was at 110 and 114 Dorrance St. He was at 114 Dorrance St. in 1894. It was incorporated in 1895. Ferdinand A. Williams and Fred J. Taber were his partners. In 1895 it was at 143 Pine St., selling ales, wines, and lager. George was at 143 Pine St. from 1895-97. Ferdiniand Williams was selling liquors at 143 Pine in 1898. George was listed as a driver from 1899-1903. He was the proprietor of the Rochester Hotel at 138 Pine St. in 1904-1918. In 1919-1920 he lived at 118 Pocasset Ave. with no occupation listed. No liquors in 1913.

John B. Lambert/ Lambert’s Soda Works-
John B. Lambert was a liquor dealer in Woonsocket. He was first listed in 1900. He was at 318 Clinton St. in 1901. John B. Lambert Jr. was at the same address in 1904. Lambert & Crepeau were listed as bottlers at 318 Clinton St. in 1908. He was first listed as a bottler by himself in 1909. He was at 318 Clinton St. He was at 312-318 Clinton St. in 1911. He created the Peerless Soda Works in 1912. It appears he continued to deal in liquors under his own name, and bottled soda as the Peerless Co. He was at 588 Clinton St. in 1912-16. He was at 586 Clinton St. in 1914.

It was listed as the Peerless Soda Works in the 1930s. In 1939-1940 Ludger Lambert was the manager, and Olivia Lambert and Mrs. Belhumeur were also owners. In 1940 the company became the Lambert Bottling Works. By 1949 it was the Lambert Bottling Co. The company was at 590 Clinton St. in 1923-1953. In 1936 they were also dealing in confections. In 1954-55 it was listed as Lambert Bottling Co. B.L.M. Inc. Lambert Beverages was not listed again until 1975-78 at 80 River Rd.

LaSalle Beverages-
LaSalle Beverages was a brand started by the Shiloh Bottling Works. This was before 1928. The earliest ad I found was from 1929. Later on the company also had a location in Springfield, Mass. It was at 166 Lester St. in 1932. The Shiloh Bottling Co. was also at this address in 1932. LaSalle Ginger Ale.
