James S. Hazard was his agent that year. Sometime around 1874 he began selling mineral water in Codd bottles. He was at 24 Peck St. Providence in 1876. He was at 22 and 24 Peck St. in 1877. He was at 315 Fountain St. Providence in 1878 manufacturing liquors and soda. He was succeeded by Ransford H. Harvey in 1879. He had a house in Norwich, CT, which proves he had ties to Irus W. Harvey and other Harvey bottlers in Norwich.

John W. Harvey-
John W. Harvey was a bottler in Providence. He was partners with George Harvey. A “Harvey Perry” was listed as a liquor dealer at 66 Canal St. in 1849. In 1854 a Joseph Harvey was listed as a bottler. Joseph Harvey was Ransford Harvey's father. In 1856 Joseph & I.W. Harvey were listed as bottlers in Norwich, and Ransford was also listed separately as a bottler in Norwich.
John Harvey was mentioned in 1856-1858. His company J. Harvey & Co. was located at 65-1/2 Canal St.
James G. Harvey was dealing yeast with Ira in 1859-1863. James was Ira's son, so he is the most likely candidate.
This is an incredibly enigmatic company to research.  I have not been able to find a single reference to J. Harvey & Co. or the Canal St. address embossed on the bottles.  All I know for certain is that they were in business in and around 1857.
