Joseph O. Gignac was a liquor dealer in
Central Falls. He was at 472 Broad St. in 1902. He was at 592
Dexter St. in 1904-07. This was the same location as Peter Germain.
He was listed as a bottler in 1907. He was at 575 Dexter St. in
1909-1919. He was also at 96-98 Darling St. in 1910.

Girard Spring Water Co.-
The Girard Spring Water Co. is located
in North Providence. Their office was at 743 Westminster St. in 1897-98. In
1898 E.O. Clarke was the manager at 1 Bloomingdale Ave. Pawtucket.
In 1899 it was at 931 Westminster St. Providence. It was at rear 554
N. Main St. in 1901. In 1902 it was at 556 N. Main St. and 1
Bloomingdale Ave. Joseph W. Baker was the treasurer in 1904. It was
at 1028 Mineral Spring Ave. from 1919-1922. They were bottling
cherry soda in 1922. It moved to 1100 Mineral Spring Ave. in 1920,
and is still there today. In 1936-39 Mr. Baldwin was the owner.

Gladstone Springs Water Co.-
The Gladstone Spring Water Co. was
located in Narragansett Pier, RI. It was listed as a “resort” in
1893. The company was first mentioned in 1901. There is mention of
the water being bottled and sold in 1899. In 1911 the company was
incorporated. Syria W. Mathewson, Frederick C. Olney, and William R.
Sweet were the founders. A 1912 inspection graded them as excellent with 8 employees. A 1916, 18 factory
inspection graded them as very good with 6 employees. In 1919 the were rated very good
with 5 employees. In 1920 they were rated very good with 10 employees. It was on Boon St. Narragansett from
1920-22. They bottled spring water and soda water. In 1921 they were graded as very good with 8 employees.
Bradlee Clough was the proprietor in 1925-28. It was not listed in
1929, and in 1930 the company was known as the Lion Club Beverage
Co., (formerly the Gladstone Bottling Co.). Louis Donatelli was the
owner. In 1931 it became the Gladstone Bottling Works. Harold C.
Dow was the owner. It was not listed in 1932-1934. In 1935-37 it
was back as Bradlee Clough, who was the owner. The Providence
Directory still called it the Gladstone Spring Water Co. in 1942. In
1943 the Warwick Club Ginger Ale Co. was also at this location.

John E. Good-
John E. Good (d. 1918) was a bottler,
liquor dealer, importer, and jobber in Providence. In 1889 he was
treasurer of the Providence Bottling Co. They were located at 25-27
Peck St. He was at 27 Peck St. in 1892. He was at 25-33 Peck St.
from 1895-96. He was at 39 Fountain St. in 1904. He was last listed
at 839 Westminster St. in 1915-1920. Mr. Good is hard to follow with
locations, as he ran the Providence Bottling Co., was a partner of
the Consolidated Mineral Water Co., and had a few other operations.
He died in April 1918.

Hugh Gorman & Co.-
Hugh Gorman (1837-1879) & Co. were
grocers in Providence. Hugh was at 6 Wickenden St. in 1861-65. His
brother Dennis joined the company in 1866, becoming Hugh Gorman &
Co. They were at 6 Wickenden St. in 1866-67. They were at 6 and 8
Wickenden St. in 1868-69. They were at 14 and 16 Wickenden St. in
1870. He was at 14 Wickenden in 1875. They were at 14, 16
Wickenden St. in 1876. They were at 12, 14, 16 Wickenden from
1878-1890. They were dealing in ales, wines, and liquors in 1882.
By 1883 Dennis Gorman was also a part of the business. They were
listed as importers of wines & liquors. Dennis Gorman was listed
in 1892 at 14 & 16 Wickenden St. In 1892 the company became
Gorman & Co.
