1898. They were last mentioned in 1907, still dealing in liquors.
Luke Connole (1856-1933), who is mentioned in 1909, might have been
one of the partners. He is listed as a liquor dealer at 30 Duke St.
He was still listed in 1920. Dennis Gorman might have been his
partner.

Eugene C. Griffith was a liquor dealer
in Pascoag, RI. He was first listed in 1884 as Eugene Griffiths. He
was running a saloon in 1889. He was first listed as a liquor dealer
in 1893. He was running a hotel and livery stable in 1896. He was
also running the Hotel Griffith in 1904. He was also listed in
1912-19 as dealing in liquors. In 1920 he ran a garage.

Thomas Grimes & Bro.-
Thomas Grimes (1844-1914) was a liquor
dealer in Providence. In 1861 John Grimes started a business dealing
in liquors in Providence. Thomas Grimes joined the company in 1863.
They were from Uxbridge, Mass., and moved to RI in the late 1850s.
In 1867 they were at 90 Pine St. (cor. Potter St.). They were also
at 1 Market Sq. in Woonsocket at this time. They were located at 125
Pine St. cor. Potter from 1876-1886. They also had a location at 23
Fulton St. in 1880. In 1884-86 he was listed at 115-125 Pine St. as
well as 355 Eddy St. He was at 115 Pine St. in 1887-1897. They were
at 115-117 Pine St. (cor. Potter) from 1889-1895, dealing in
wholesale liquors. In 1890 the company became Thos. Grimes &
Bro. John was still a member of the company. In 1892 they were
listed as importers and wholesale liquor dealers. They were
producing over 20,000 barrels of ale a year. He was at 115 Pine St.
in 1897-98. In 1899 the company became Thomas Grimes & Bro. Inc.
Thomas Grimes, Joseph A. Grimes, and Patrick Cahir were the
partners. They were at Washington, cor. W. Exchange St. By 1901 he
was at 23, 25 Dorrance St. The address was Dorrance cor. Washington
St. in 1900-09. In 1910 they were listed as bottlers at 53 Pine St.
They were at 53 Pine St. and 33 Peck St. in 1911. They were at 53
Pine St. in 1913-15. Louis Shatkin was the president in 1914. They
were at 191-193 South Main St. in 1916. They were at 191 South Main
St. from 1917-1920. They were succeeded by the Turks Head Beverage
Co.? They had same address in 1921. John Lisker was manufacturing
cereal beverages at 191 S. Main St. in 1920.

William H. Grimes-
William H. Grimes was a liquor dealer
in Pawtucket, RI. Born in Ireland, he moved to the US in 1848. In
1865 he joined the business of two of his brothers in Providence. He
moved to Pawtucket in 1873. He started his business at the corner of
High & Main Sts. W.H. & Francis A. Grimes were listed in
1875 at Main cor. High St. In 1877-1884 they were at 105 Main St.
He became W.H. Grimes & Co. by 1880. In 1883 he moved to 23 &
25 N. Main St., which was known as Manchester Block. He was listed
as a bottler (including mineral waters) in 1886-87. He was at North
Main St. and Railroad Ave. in 1892. He was at 16 Railroad Ave. in
1893, transferred to John Donahue? (also at old address). In 1903 he
formed the William H. Grimes Co. William H. Grimes, Robert W.
Grimes, and Thomas F. Harrington were the founders. He was at 25 (or
23) N. Main St. from 1894-1920. 23-31 N. Main St. in 1910. A 1912
factory inspection graded him as very good with 9 employees. A 1916, 18 factory inspection graded the company
as excellent with 5 employees. In 1919 they were rated as excellent with 8 employees. They were dealing in liquors and
groceries.
