Park Brewing Co.-
The Park Brewing Co. was located in
Providence. It was incorporated in 1900. Frederick E. Perkins was
the president, and James H. Hagan was the treasurer. Charles J.
Christie was also a founding member. They described themselves as
brewers and bottlers of ale, lager, and porter. They were at
1096-1100 Elmwood Ave. in 1901.
A 1906 factory inspection graded the
company as very good with 42 employees.
1907 graded as very good with 45
employees.
1908 graded as very good with 48
employees.
1909 listed as closed.
1910 graded as good with 22 employees.
1911, 12 graded as good with 37
employees.
They were at 1100 Elmwood Ave. from
1904-1912. A fire burned down the brewing company in 1913.

Peerless Soda Works-
The Peerless Soda Works was in
Woonsocket. It was started by John B. Lambert in 1912. It was at
588-594 Clinton St. in 1912-15. It was at 586-594 Clinton St. in
1915-17. It was bottling lemon & lime soda in 1922. Their big
brand was Pe-Ne-To. They were at 588 Clinton St. in 1916-1922. They
were not listed in 1912 or late 1922 directories. The UBB lists it
at 588 Clinton St. in 1927-1937 with J.B. Lambert as the proprietor.
It was listed as Lamberts Soda Works (also Peerless Soda Works) at
590 Clinton St. in 1938. It was still “also Peerless Soda Works”
in 1940.
