McKenna & Conaty-
Peter McKenna (d. 1893) and Bernard
Conaty (d. 1914) formed a partnership in 1882. Peter was at 84
Summer St. cor. Conduit St. in 1880. Bernard was dealing in liquors
at 320 Atwells Ave. in 1881. They were at Whelden, cor. McKenna St.
in 1882. They were at 124 Canal St. in 1883-85. They were at 5
Cypress St. in 1886-87. Peter was at 5 Cypress St. in 1889,
advertising ginger, quince, and fruit phosphate drinks. In 1888 they
were at 22 Cypress St. They manufactured soda and beer here. Peter
died Sept. 1893, but Bernard did not change the company name. They
were listed at 20 Cypress St. from 1896-98. They were back at 22
Cypress St. in 1899. They had the same address until 1912, when the
firm was dissolved. They were listed at a second address (825 North
Main St.) in 1892.

McKenna & Nolan-
James E. Nolan and James P. McKenna (d.
1911) formed a partnership by 1903. James P. was listed as a bottler
and James E. a teamster in 1902. They were bottlers at 301
Tockwotten St. from 1903-1910. They were at 254 India St. in 1911.
James McKenna died in March 1911, and James Nolan continued in the
bottling business on his own.

Thomas B. McLaughlin/ Joseph McLaughlin / McLaughlin’s
Soda Works-
Thomas B. McLauhlin (1851-1936) was a
liquor dealer and bottler in Woonsocket. A T.P. McLaughlin was
listed in 1880-83. He was at James, near Cato St. in 1880. Thomas
B. was first listed at Cherry, cor. Railroad St. in 1881. He was
listed in 1884. He was at 99 River St. in 1886-88. He was at 95
River Rd. in 1891. He was at 145 River St. in 1892-97. He was first
listed as a bottler in 1901. He was at 72 Summer St. in 1901-04. He
was at 444 Summer St. in 1905-1911. Joseph McLaughlin (1889-1939)
took over the company in 1912. He was at 444 Summer St. in 1912. He
was at 464 Summer St. in 1913-14. The McLaughlin’s Soda Works was
first listed in 1914. They were bottlers of Coca-Cola and Spruce
Beer that year. It was at 464 Summer St. from 1914-1922. In 1920 it
was listed at 444 Summer St. They were bottling Old Fashioned Spruce
and Whistle at the time. They were at 8 Prospect St. Woonsocket in
1922. They were at 8-10 Prospect St. in 1923-25. It was at 8
Prospect St. in 1926-27. They were offering strawberry soda at the
time. The McLaughlin's Bottling Works was listed again from
1935-1936 at 47 Burnside St. in Providence.

McManus & Meade-
Richard McManus (1865-1934) & John
P. Meade (1869-1941) were bottlers in Nasonville, RI. They were
listed in 1895-1912. They were at Main St. cor. Pascoag Rd. in
1895-99. They ran the Western Hotel in 1904-1910. In 1913 they
bought the Nasonville Bottling Co., which was located at the Western
Hotel and was owned by Patrick Lynch.

Edward Mee & Son-
Edward Mee (1843-1920) was a liquor
dealer in Woonsocket. He was running a saloon at 17 Cato St. in
1873. He was at 106 Main St. and James, cor. Cato St. in 1880. He
was at 18 James St. in 1886-1892. He was at 24 James St. in 1893-94.
He was at 26 Cherry St. in 1895-99. Patrick F. Mee (1874-1923) was
his son, who joined him in the business. They were at the southeast
corner of Cherry & Cato Sts. from 1895-1901. They were at 6
Monument Sq. and Cherry, cor. Cato St. in 1902-03. 14 Cato St. &
26 Cherry St. 1905-1911. They were at 24 Cato St. and 42 Cherry St.
from 1912-16. They were at 42 Cherry St. in 1917-1921, dealing in
beers and liquors.
